Wedding post #1

Today I finally married my best friend

Scott and I have been dating for 3 years now. Our first date was at a coffee shop and we sat there way past the coffee shop had closed for the night. I believe that people come into your life that you have no explanation for, they're just supposed to be there. Scott came into my life and changed it for the better in so many ways.

I knew that when we started planning this thing, a traditional wedding was not in our budget. I have had the pleasure of being apart of some amazing weddings, here and far. Traditional weddings really weren't with in our budget and destination weddings posed a semi bigger headache. It just personally didn't make sense to 1. spend that kind of money on an event that lasts for only hours. 2. Make any family members feel obligated to come.

I don't handle stress easily. When we were invited to a destination wedding it really ripped a deep deep hole in our pocket, we could afford it but the timing for the wedding was just not in our favor for what was going on in our personal lives. The thought of someone in this family feeling the way we did trying to make it happen was a feeling we never wanted to impose on anyone in our family.

My parents have always told me since I was a kid that I will never get to have one of "those" kinds of weddings anyways. Not to be mean, but to teach me that spending that amount of money for only a couple of hours is well... kind of a waste? nothing against your big beautiful wedding, I really envy you honestly. I still get all googly over wedding pictures and the details that go into them. If you have had one of those weddings please don't take offense this literally is just based off of my personal feelings? Did we want to have everyone in our family to be there? of course with out a doubt, we just didn't have the funds for it. I really hope you guys understand.

I didn't want to think that just because we were not spending a couple thousand on this day, it doesn't mean we cant be fancy about it. There was so much information out there of what is "needed" and we made that "need" based off of our actual personalities and most importantly make it WELL with in our budget.

We got married at the Miami Beach Court house and had lunch at Yardbird Southern Table and Bar. It fit us. They gave us a personalized menu, we only had a small party of 10. The staff was on point they came to our every need. We all stuffed our faces and laughed about all the things. I feel like in the grand scheme of things that is all I ever wanted in a wedding. I wanted it to be like how it used to be when we were kids and we would all sit at the table and eat and talk and laugh. It was super intimate and I loved every minute of it.

If this is the way we are going to run things babe, we are in for a serious ride!

P.s I just want to give a shout out to some really amazing people who made this day go SO smoothly and these people were very generous with their time and crafts.

Adriana, My maid of honor. My sister. My best friend. She knows me. She knew that I would try and attempt to do this all on my own and she came through with a fist of fury. You are amazing and I love you. I am so glad we met each other in gym class. She helped with everything, literally and she made us this awesome invitation.

Valerie did my make up who is also known for doing my hair so awesomely. Yeah I know you're like "She does make up too?" no guys.... she told me she only does make up for people she loves! She is also like a sister to me and you also have always been there for me and I love you so so much
Olena did my updo. Shes literally the most interesting woman I've ever met. I feel like I can listen to her talk for hours. She has the best stories. I love you because you are SO true to yourself and that is SO amazing. I know you are going to raise your baby boy to be one REALLY kick ass kid!
Nelson was my photographer... This was a big deal. I don't know if he knows but he just documented the most amazing moment of my life and its with me forever now. This was an amazing gift my friend.

- Now I'm crying again... You guys don't know how hard things have been for me the last couple of years. I don't think you will ever know the amount of appreciation I have for you and the standards that I hold you to. If you have ever wondered if you have helped a person in need even if you think what you have done is a simple task, it really means the literal world to me. I am so so so so so thankful for people like you here on earth. You made a girl who has had a real tough time feel like a total princess for the first time in her life and that is a huge deal!

These are just sneak peaks... I just couldn't wait to share...
