The day I got rid of Facebook...

I've been trying to do this for so long but my business was attached to my facebook and I thought it would've been harder to switch everything over. It wasn't really hard actually.

I think there comes a time where you realize that you can actually call and text your friends and the 500 friends you have on Facebook aren't REALLY your friends, they're just there for you to keep tabs on. Why? is something I can't figure out for the life of me. 

I made my decision after gay marriage/equality FINALLY was recognized, not because of the actual act but the out flow of people behind it. More specifically the opinion my 500 "friends" thought they were entitled to have after this very huge event. I know that this is a free country, and we have this great thing called "freedom of speech" but it doesn't mean you need to be hateful or disrespectful. 

When I was younger my grandma always told me "If you have nothing nice to say, then don't say it at all" and apparently that really resonated with me. 

And I get it because I sometimes feel like I have an opinion but I don't voice it on social media. That's why I have a blog. I don't like shoving my opinion in every one's face because its my own opinion. No one understands this on facebook. People think they do but even if your opinion is more justified because of what ever reason, it can and will offend the opposite side. 

Our generation has become so self involved it makes me nauseous and it makes me feel sick to be apart of it. I feel like even if you think you have the right opinion, no one deemed you to be the voice to voice it.  We all have to live on this planet, and I would much rather live comfortably then uncomfortably.

We've become a society that needs social acceptance by posting pictures to validate they have a great life which is so ass backwards. "Out with the friends!" umm that's great... why don't you go and enjoy it? and POST THAT PICTURE TOMORROW. I get it, you think your life is great but no one on facebook needs to know. No one is wondering if you're out having a great time and if they are, what in the hell is wrong with them?

and the reposts. Mother of god the fucking reposts. I did my own study that showed 87% of people that reposted news or anything having to do with a news story was wrong and completely fabricated. There was no actual proof of these stories being true at all. People want to repost shit that they think is relevant to their life, well at least make sure what you're posting is true. Even if it says a fucking Doctor wrote it, you should probably make sure that the Doctor is a real person. 

Did you know that Dr. Oz is under extreme scrutiny for advertising products that either do nothing or more harm than good. Hes a fucking Doctor on day time television advertising products that even he is not sure about. 

You want to be a hateful bigot, fine... make a facebook page specifically for your hatefulness. Don't spew it all everyone elses page. There are 4 things people should never talk about during an open conversation unless you WANT to argue with someone about it.

1. Religion

2. Politics

3. Abortions

4. LGBT Community

Not because there is anything wrong with either of these, but they are VERY sensitive subject to talk about with total and complete strangers. Its inappropriate even with people you know because someone is always going to have the complete opposite opinion and they are going to fight you to the death about it. Its so hard for people to know when to stop, enough is enough. No one can be the bigger person and just accept. So if you don't know how to agree to disagree or talk like civilized people then posting it on social media is getting you absolutely no where.
